My name is Aaron Jones. I have been surrounded by ministry my entire life.
I am a third generation Ordained Assemblies of God minister, and a fourth generation Pentecostal. I was raised in a pastor’s home and have been apart of the Assemblies of God since before I can remember.
My parents are Gary and Marcy Jones. Currently they are one of the lead pastors at New Life Church in Alamo, CA. My parents have been in full time ministry for 32 years. I have one brother and one sister. Travis, my brother, 27, is currently in Texas with his wife, Monica, and two sons, Brayden and Rylan, where he teaches middle school science. My sister, Amanda, 25, is currently a Master’s program student at San Diego State University in the Psychology program, where she is studying to be a social worker.
My wife, Lauren, and I were married in June 2008 in San Diego, CA. Lauren is a high school English teacher and has been teaching since she graduated from Azusa Pacific University in 2004.
Her mother, Bonnie, and two sisters, Evan and Skyler, live in North County San Diego.
I graduated from Vanguard University, formerly Southern California College, in 2001. Since graduation I have had the privilege to be in ministry in some great churches. Upon graduation I became apart of the Student Ministries Staff at San Diego First Assembly, where my dad was the executive pastor. For the next year I volunteered doing the Middle School service on a weekly basis. In fall of 2002 I was offered the full time position of Student Ministries pastor in Buellton, CA, where I was until the summer of 2004. Due to finances and God opening up doors I was offered the position of Student Ministries Pastor at Victorville First Assembly where I was until January 2005, when I moved back to San Diego.
In August of 2005 I was offered the position of Middle School pastor at Faith Chapel in Spring Valley, CA where my father was now the Senior Pastor. Eventually I transitioned out Middle School and became the lead worship leader for the Saturday Night Service that had just begun at the church. In September, I received a call from my father about the opportunity to go to Arizona and work with Pastor Leigh Metcalf, a friend of my dad’s through Convoy of Hope. In November 2007 I came to Arizona and took the Student Ministries position here at Lifepointe Church, then Bradshaw Mountain Assembly. Within the year, Lauren moved from San Diego and joined me here and we have been ministering here since.
